Welcome to the Center of Technology!

Submitted by wbishop on Mon, 08/03/2009 - 13:24

The Haleyville Center of Technology was established in 1973 in order to better prepare students for the world of work.

In keeping with the original purpose, the Center of Technology is preparing students by offering 21st career tech skills in multiple career pathways. All departments at the Center of Technology have enhanced their programs through computer-aided technology which is readily accessible for student achievement. Students are able to prepare themselves for continued study at post-secondary institutions or for entry into the world of work. Listed below are many, but not all, of the courses offered at the Haleyville Center of Technology

Open the door to your future at the Center of Technology through the following classes and/or clubs…
Intro to Business Technology, Construction, Nutrition, Business Technology Applications, Accounting, Agriscience, Welding, Drafting, Keyboarding, and Auto Technology. FBLA, FCCLA, VICA, DECA, Jr. High FBLA, FFA, PYLI, Skills USA, Priority One, and JAG.

In addition to the courses and clubs, the Haleyville Center of Technology has articulation agreements with Northwest Shoals Community College and Bevill State Community College. Also, we currently have dual enrollment drafting and welding for the 2009-2010 school year on a scholarship basis. This means that students that participate in our programs can and will have a future when they leave our school if they apply themselves while on our campus.

Not only does the Center of Technology provide high tech skills for individuals interested in a career tech path, the Center of Technology is an equal opportunity institution. As such, the Haleyville Center of Technology does not discriminate against any individual on the basis of race, color, disability, sex, religion, creed, national origin, or age in employment or participation in any program or activity. The Center of Technology and its faculty actually encourage women, special needs students, and members of minority groups to participate in all of its programs and activities.

Our future is our students; therefore, in today’s fast paced society our motto is and must continue to be “promoting excellence through career pathways for the 21st century and beyond”. Open the door to your future today and find your pathway at the Center of Technology.

The Haleyville Center of Technology at Haleyville City Schools offers career and technical education programs to all students in our district. These programs are designed to prepare youth for a broad range of employment and further education and are offered under the guidance of certified teachers.

All career and technical education programs follow the system’s policies of nondiscrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, age, and disability in all programs, services, activities, and employment. In addition, arrangements can be made to ensure that the lack of English language proficiency is not a barrier to admission or participation.
