“In this world of rapid change, where information is expanding exponentially and increasing in complexity, learning is a survival skill. Mastering the basics—reading, writing, and arithmetic—is as important as ever, but is no longer enough. Today’s students need to learn more than previous generations. They need to know how to find and use new information, to make informed decisions about complicated issues, and to collaborate as part of a team. Since the pace of change shows no signs of slowing in the future, students also need to learn how to learn.”

The Haleyville Center of Technology at Haleyville City Schools offers career and technical education programs to all students in our district. These programs are designed to prepare youth for a broad range of employment and further education and are offered under the guidance of certified teachers.

All career and technical education programs follow the system’s policies of nondiscrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, age, and disability in all programs, services, activities, and employment. In addition, arrangements can be made to ensure that the lack of English language proficiency is not a barrier to admission or participation.
