DECA Students scrore big with 19 students out of 22 qualifying for state!

Submitted by William Bishop on Tue, 01/26/2010 - 09:03

Haleyville DECA students took an On-Line test competing against students from the entire Northern District (Birmingham schools systems ->North) for the opportunity to qualify for State competition. The top 8 scores (per event) earn the privilege to compete at the State level.

Students competed in Accounting Applications, Apparel Marketing, Sports & Entertainment Marketing, Business Law & Ethics, Hospitality Services Management, Food Marketing, Travel & Tourism Marketing, Restaurant Management, etc… 19 out of 22 students who participated moved on to the State level of competition. State competition will be February 15 – 16.
State winners advance to the National Conference, this year held in Louisville, KY. 14,000 DECA students participate, annually, at the National level. Congratulations to Mrs. Middleton and her DECA students for a job well done. Good luck at State!
