The Haleyville Center of Technology was established in 1973 in order to better prepare students for the world of work. Bevill State: Torch Invitational – Hamilton Campus

First place winners receive scholarships to Bevill State.

At Haleyville High School and the Haleyville Center of Technology we are very proud of our students and their teachers. Our students competed against other students from surrounding High Schools and Career Technical centers and below you will find our winners from the recent event in various areas. The event took place on 2-26-2010.

AHSGE and Attendance: You can help!

The Alabama High School Graduation Exam is this week and the first part began today. The AHSGE consists of five sections-reading, math, language, science, and social studies. High School students must currently pass all parts of the exam in order to graduate from high school. If students pass the exam on the first try that is one less thing that they will have to worry about while at HHS.

Abby Brown and Brittany Robbins -> Apparel and Accessories Marketing
Dustin Young -> Principles of Hospitality Management
Ashlee Stepheson & Heather Roberts -> Hospitality Services (team)
Keith Emerson -> Accounting Applications
Nelson Tidwell -> Restaurant Management

HCT Cobra wins Runner Up at the 2010 World of Wheels

Here is one of our favorite pictures from the World of Wheels. It makes a great computer background.  Instructor Mike Batchelor and the Auto Tech students have done a wonderful job with the project. Keep up the great work!

When you have the opportunity locate a copy of the February 8, 2010 ALABAMA SCHOOL JOURNAL and read about Mike Batchelor and his Career Tech Student Organization (CTSO) and their project.  The article is on page 6 under the AEA Professional section and it is titled "Hot ride inspires students" and it is about the Haleyville Center of Technology's automotive technology project, our Factory5 cobra replica.

DECA Students scrore big with 19 students out of 22 qualifying for state!

Haleyville DECA students took an On-Line test competing against students from the entire Northern District (Birmingham schools systems ->North) for the opportunity to qualify for State competition. The top 8 scores (per event) earn the privilege to compete at the State level.

Make-up Weather Days

We will make up the first weather day on Friday, February 12th. The second weather day will be made up on Wednesday, March 17th. We will still be out on February 15th and March 15th-16th if we have no further weather problems.
